    September 2016

Dear Colleagues, I welcome you all into the month of September, 2016.

    Appreciation

I wish to register my sincerest appreciation once again to the GB, SEC, the entire Conference Planning Committee, Sponsors, Exhibitors, Advertisers, Speakers, Chairpersons of Breakaway Sessions, Conference and National Secretariat Staff who played critical and diverse roles to ensure a smooth and successful AGM. I am particularly grateful to all Pharmacists who turned up in such huge and impressive numbers to participate in the Meeting. This was in spite of the distance, cost and challenges involved in traveling to Sunyani. I was impressed by our energy, commitment and passion.

I say thank you and God richly bless you.

    Presidential Address at AGM 2016

Today, I have chosen to share with all members and the general public my 2016 AGM Speech. It is instructive and offers all of us the opportunity to read, interrogate and engage on the contents as we look forward to closing 2016. As I always indicate, your feedback is crucial in creating The New Outlook for Pharmacy. <Please click here to download the speech>

    2016 World Pharmacists Day

On 25th September 2016, we would be joining International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and all our global colleagues to celebrate World Pharmacists Day under worldwide theme, “Pharmacists: Caring for you". I encourage every one of us to find our own unique way to highlight the various ways we care as professionals. The Public Health Team, Internal Relations Directorate and the Regional Chairpersons are actively planning an elaborate national celebration throughout the week in collaboration with Janssen Pharmaceuticals.

You can get a banner, a poster, engage a church, a school, any organized group or find any special way to emphasize the care we provide as pharmacists in our various diverse settings. Its our day& our week - let us make the most out of it.

    GHOSPA's Nationwide Strike

I have keenly followed the efforts of leaderships of every stakeholder who matters in this epic struggle, supported and pursued my own interventions in finding a lasting and final solution to this rather regrettable and protracted quest for fair compensation to our colleagues in public hospital practice.

This impending action is unfortunate and could have been averted by a timely and befitting response from Government. I encourage the leadership of the Government and Hospital Pharmacists Association (GHOSPA) to strategically manage the action and all its ramifications to preserve the nobility of our profession while pursuing their legitimate claims. We remain willing and determined to support them in anyway as a critical part of our family.

As PSGH, we will continue to play the fatherly role of supporting GHOSPA, and all other interest groups in any legitimate quests.

    God Bless Pharmacy,

    God Bless the PSGH,

    God Bless us all
