The 2015 Annual General Meeting of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) comes off from Tuesday, 15th September to Friday, 19th September, 2015. This year being an election year, the AGM is termed " CONFERENCE".
The theme for this year's conference is " UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE: ACHIEVING RESPONSIBLE USE OF MEDICINES"
The venue for this year's conference is the serene campus of Central University College (CUC) at Miotso in the Ningo-Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region located about 16 kilometres from the Tema end of the Accra-Tema Motorway on the Tema -Aflao road. It is approximately 20 minutes drive without traffic from the Tema end of the Motorway Round About.
Two main meanings are assigned to the name Miotso (Miocho) in the local Dangme dialect. One school of thought provide the meaning as "Baobab Tree", whilst the second school of thought say the meaning is " thorn tree". An alternative name locally is Miochokpo which means " hill with thorn tree".
Hope City, a technology park which was initially planned to be built by Rlg Communications Ltd at Kasoa has been relocated nearby. Plans are also underway by government to build the new international airport at a location near Ningo which is a few kilometres away from Miotso.
