PSGH prioritizes Strategic Plans for 2019

A 3-day residential meeting to set objectives and prioritize strategic plans of the PSGH has been held at the Aruba Guest House, Aburi. The prioritization meeting took place from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th February 2019 at the Aruba Guest House in Aburi.

 

Opening

President Benjamin Botwe welcomed participants to the meeting and charged them to think differently and look at the profession and how to create opportunities for the current and future generations. He added that all of the objective setting and prioritization setting for the year should be undergirded by the need to uphold professionalism and ethics.

The PSGH has stayed committed to seeing to the full implementation of the Strategic Plan since the document was adopted at the 2016 AGM held in Sunyani. Led by the Strategic Plans Chairman and the Strategic Plans Manager, a residential meeting of representatives from the Practice Groups of the PSGH is convened at the beginning of each year to prioritize and develop activities for the year within the 10-Year Strategic Plan framework.

 

Objective setting and prioritization

Dr. Charles Fordjour who is the Strategic Plan Chairman reminded the participants to understand that the Strategic Plan document is a focused approach to guide pharmacists and the pharmacy profession towards the aspired pathway of excellence and actualization. He therefore expected the participants to set actionable and measurable objectives for their respective Practice Groups.

Prior to the meeting, the Strategic Plans Manager invited pharmacists to submit Practice Group-specific inputs on the objectives to be prioritized for 2019 and the activities to be carried out for inclusion. All suggestions that were received were incorporated in the objective setting that was carried out over the 3-day residential meeting.

Practice Group representatives are expected to communicate the finalized action plans to their constituents for adoption and alignment.
